2023 Winter Outing at Pungo NWR and Lake Mattamuskeet – Jan 20 thru 22

Photo opportunities may include: black bears, Snow Geese, Tundra Swans and migratory birds at Pungo and other migratory birds at Lake Mattamuskeet, in Englehard sunken shrimp boats with resident shore birds like cormorants, pelicans and gulls. One evening Bob Cassanova will help us in shooting sunset and/or star trails on the causeway through Lake Mattamuskeet.

To take advantage of more restaurants like Down on Mainstreet, we recommend staying in Washington, NC [known as Little Washington] on the banks of the Pamlico River. This will give us the opportunity for a dinner together.

Register on the CNPA Website to get additional guides and itineraries. Additional details will be sent to those who register with a suggested schedule and location to meet at Pungo, for the Lake Mattamuskeet star trails photography and about star trail photography technique.
