A much anticipated feature of our convention is the Members’ Choice Contest. Members submit digital images which are judged by the entire CNPA membership. Our Guest Speakers will then select two “Top of Tier” images and one “Best of Show” image from the images winning first, second and third places in each category. Members submit their entries into one of the two tiers:
Tier One includes any member who has won a Best of Show, Top of Tier, or First place or any combination of two Second and Third place prizes in any previous CNPA Members Choice Contest or any member who describes him/herself (or is generally recognized) as a professional photographer or workshop leader.
Tier Two includes any member who has never won a Best of Show, Top of Tier, First place, or any combination of two Second and Third Place prizes in any previous CNPA Members Choice Contest, and who does not describe him/herself (or is not generally recognized) as a professional photographer or workshop leader. If you have competed in Tier One, previously, but have won no more than one Second and/or Third place prize, you will be allowed (but not required) to compete in Tier Two again
Each year the categories are selected by the Members Choice Committee with the approval of the CNPA Board. Categories for 2023 are: Landscape, Wildlife World, Wildlife North America, Captive, Small Stuff, Plants, Birds, and Artistic/Creatively Processed. Over time, the rules and categories have changed. The 2023 rules are included in the Members’ Choice Competition Guidelines.
