A much anticipated feature of our annual meetings is the Members’ Choice Contest. Members submit digital image files in the competition and are themselves the judges. Members vote to select winners in each category. The best photo in each tier, “Top of Tier“, is selected by featured speakers at the annual meeting. “Best of Show“, the overall winner, is selected by the Keynote Speaker from the winning images selected by the members. Members submit their entries into one of the two tiers:
Tier One includes any member who has won a Best of Show, Top of Tier, First, Second or Third place prize in any previous CNPA Members Choice Contest or any member who describes him/herself (or is generally recognized) as a professional photographer or workshop leader.
Tier Two includes any member who has never won a Best of Show, Top of Tier, First, Second or Third Place prize in any previous CNPA Members Choice Contest, and who does not describe him/herself (or is not generally recognized) as a professional photographer or workshop leader.
Each year the categories are selected by the CNPA board. Categories are Landscape, Wildlife World, Wildlife North America, Captive, Small Stuff, Plants, and Birds. Over time, the rules and categories have changed. The 2020 rules are included in the Members’ Choice Competition Guidelines.
Winning images will be displayed in a photo gallery here.
