Default Re: D750 vs D810

From what I have read, the flare problem seems to be caused by a manufacturing variance in the autofocus sensors...some sit up a hair to tall, and cause a shadow in some unique situations (shooting into a bright light that is just out of frame).

You can run your s/n on the nikon website and it will show if recall is due or not. (New and repaired production have a black dot inside the tripod socket). They have pulled all out of stock for inspection and repair if necessary.

My D750 s/n does indicate that it needs the inspect/repair, but I have tried and not been able to produce the effect. For me, it is a non-issue. I'd rather it not get messed with. Only reason I'd do it is resale value...but that's hardly worth it -- it'll depreciate to almost nothing in short order anyway, once the next newest, latest and greatest model comes out.

I like the D750, fits my needs well. Had it about a month now.
