Hi all
Has anyone ever used the gorillapod and have you found it helpful or not? I would be using it primarily on the ground with a D200 and a 105. Any input is most appreciated.
Thank you.

Tom, I looked at the Gorillapod but found it wasn't quite sturdy enough for my Canon 20D + Sigma 150mm macro. That 105 should be a good bit lighter and your combo might just work. I bought the "Medium" version for my daughter to use with her Canon S3 IS and she loves it!
Salvation, for me, for getting low to the ground came at the CNPA annual meeting in Charleston. Gary with Hunt's Photo had an "Ergorest" on display that was pert-near perfect! More expensive than the Gorillapod (especially when you add your own head) it was well worth the extra cost to me. A plus is that it can also act as a window mount or chest pod. I was surprised at just how well made this product is. http://www.ergorest.fi/eng/index.htm For me, it is just one of those products that works!
