Hello Everyone! Well, here it is… What everyone has been waiting patiently for… We are now scheduled to have our monthly CNPA Charlotte Region Meetings at UNC Charlotte in the McMillan Greenhouse Classroom! We will still have the same meeting day and time (second Wednesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.), just a new location. So, with that said, here is a quick reminder for May:
Event: CNPA Charlotte Region Monthly Meeting
Date: Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Time: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EDT
Location: UNC Charlotte – McMillan Greenhouse Classroom
Address: 9201 University City Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28223
Meeting Topics:
Report on CNPA Annual Meeting
Photographic Inkjet Papers: The Other Variable – Speaker: Mike Richard of Hawk Mountain Paper
Directions to McMillan Greenhouse:
Take I-85 to Exit 46A (Mallard Creek Church Road). Turn East onto Mallard Creek Church Road (head toward 29 / Tryon Street), go 1.5 miles. At the second stoplight, turn right onto Mary Alexander Road. After passing through the campus gate, take your second right onto Michael Craver Road. Take an immediate right to find visitor parking spots (one parking option). You will see the greenhouse across the street. Walk across the street along the sidewalk next to the Handicap Only parking lot and enter the greenhouse through that door. Immediately take a right, go through another door, and then head to your left. The classroom will be straight ahead.

Important Parking Notes:
In the two maps above, Building #37 is the McMillan Greenhouse. The Parking Lot next to it is Lot 16A – note that we CANNOT use that lot as it is all handicap parking, all day, every day.
We can park in front of Parking Services, Building #23, and in the visitor parking spots for the Greenhouse, both of which are right across the street from the Greenhouse (13 spots total there).
In addition, there are more spots in the Facilities Area that we can park in – those are located in the same parking lot as the ones listed in the previous bullet (just keep proceeding past the first 13 spots).
Also check Parking Lot 12 to the left once you enter the campus gate, spaces along Mary Alexander between Cameron Boulevard and Michael Craver Road, and Parking Lot 16. Signage in these lots state that they are for Residents and Faculty / Staff and require permits from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Per the Parking Services website though, permits are enforced from 8:00 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday so park there at your own risk.
Metered parking areas are effective between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, except University holidays – so if you park in a meter spot, you will need to pay for the time you will be there.
Any parking spots that have signage stating reserved for a specific group and towing enforced, do not park there as they are serious.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing you all next week at our new meeting location! Take care and have a great day! :)DJGD
