Anybody know of a good online source for identification of dragonflies and damsel flies found in the Southeastern states? I have used www.bugguide.net (http://www.bugguide.net) and find it useful but am looking for something more specific for dragons and damsels.

Butch, try this. I don't like it becuae there are no thumbnails but it is specific for this area and I've used it to identify a dragonfly or two.

It's not on-line, but I would highly recommend Giff Beaton's recent "Dragonflies and Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast" book - http://www.ugapress.uga.edu/0820327956.html

You can also check out his web site for an on-line resource: http://www.giffbeaton.com/dragonflies.htm

If you ever get a chance to take in one of Giff's bird (shorebird, warbler, or other) or insect talks or one of the tours he leads (like the ones at the Colonial Coast Nature and Birding Festival in coastal Georgia), you are in for a treat.
