Eyelashes

Not the clearest image, but this is highly cropped to show the female Ruby Throated hummingbird's eyelashes. A friend commented that she seemed to have mascara applied, but needed a pedicure. The original image showed the entire bird hovering over the feeder.

Canon EOS 20D with Sigma 70-200mm lens and 1.4x converter for focal length of 280mm, ISO 400, 1/125 sec., f/25, multiple flash units at 1/32 power.

Both this and the tinkling humming bird are great shots--never knew they had eyelashes. I figured they must tinkle, but didn't expect to see it captured.
