Canon EOS 30D, ISO 800, 1/125 sec., f/25, with four 550EX flash units set manually to 1/32 power and fired by a wireless Speedlite Transmitter on the hot shoe of the camera. The lens was a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 with a 1.4x extender, zoomed all the way out for 420mm.
Shot through Plexiglas from from the comfort of my living room. The feeder and the flash units were on my front porch.
I liked this shot because of the unusual stream of clear liquid coming from the male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. We have taken thousands of hummingbird photos, but have never witnessed this before. It looks as if he was periously close to contaminating his food source.
