Art Morris at Annual Meeting gave a quick illustration of how to extend the
canvas and expand a photo when needed. (Such as when you chop of the
tip of a wing, toe, or blossom and want to add that to your photo by using a clone and flip technique.) Online I can't find any tutorial for this. There is one where you can expand to add border. I am interested in adding to the photo itself. Share your expertise, and advise us about this. Annette

Try this technique.

1 select your picture with the crop tool
2 use shift + alt and drag your canvas
3 when your satisfied of the size click enter.
The background color is used to expand your canvas !

Thanks for the suggestion. This is much easier than the way I do it. Will it work to expand the canvas twice for two different colors?

I guess it will but you will have to change the background color. I've never tried it. I don't add frames around my images. I expand the canvas to add more room in front of an animal or flower.

I don't normally put frames around photos. BUT, I'm cheap. If I'm going to hang it on my wall, I make a two color mat around my photo. This keeps me from having to buy mats for my shots.
