Hope you all can join us for the August outing. It should be a good one!
Savannah Wildlife Refuge
Saturday, August 18, 7:00 am
Meeting Time and Location:
We will meet at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge parking lot at 7:00 am. From the parking lot, we will travel around the refuge loop shooting whatever we may find along the way. We will caravan from the refuge parking lot to a Savannah restaurant at lunchtime.
Shoot Details:
SNWR has many photo opportunities. Near the entrance there are opportunities for flowers and dragonflies. As you move along the loop you can find alligators and many types of birds. I have photographed everything from the typical wading birds (herons, egrets, anhinga) to slightly less common birds like purple gallinules, soras, and least bitterns. You may also find ducks, common gallinules, osprey, and owls. You may even find a mammal such as a deer, feral pig, or bobcat (I have the photo evidence to prove it). The bottom line is that there is always something to shoot at the SNWR! If you would like to get more info, please check out the SWNR website http://www.fws.gov/savannah/ .
Directions:
Refuge is located in Chatham and Effingham Counties, GA and JasperCounty, SC.
The Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive is located on SC 170, six miles south of Hardeeville, SC via US 17 (Exit 5 off I-95), just follow the brown signs.
How to sign-up:
Attendance for this outing is not limited, but in order to plan for lunch please let me know if you plan to attend. Please sign up by sending an e-mail to treasurer@cnpa.org .
Outing Fee:
