CNPA- Myrtle Beach Region
March 16, 2008
Coordinator Kim Jones called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
In attendance
19 members in attendance: Anne Malarich,Jolyn Kuhn, Rich Kuhn, Liza Van Horn,Terri Eddinger, Sandra Anderson, Mark Hilliard, Jim Braxmeier, Everet Baird, Pat Schirtzinger, Kim Jones, Diana Johnson, Nancy Longueil, Jeff Longueil, Lou Doherty, Jim Ellis, Bonnie Eaglin, Ron Eaglin & Clarke Hayes.
Treasury Report

Old Business
Brookgreen Project: Workday has been set for Saturday March 22 at 10am. Meet at the Zoo. Bring gloves, water, shovels or any type of gardening tool. Diana Johnson will have releases and temporary volunteer badges for workers.
Liability Release: Kim clarified that no other release needs to be signed once someone becomes a paid member of CNPA.
Annual Meeting Outing: Discussion was held whether to attempt an outing while in Charleston for the Annual Meeting. General consensus was that would be up to each individual member attending the meeting to make that decision for themselves. There would be no organized outing.
Outing committee: Jim Braxmeier presented a calendar of suggested outings during the year. Destinations suggested were:
April: Wacatee Zoo or Abbey near Summerville
May: Walterboro (overnight trip)
June: Lee State Park near Florence
July: Wood’s Bay near Lake City; SC Waterfall trip near the Clemson area (overnight trip)
August: Columbia Zoo and Congaree (overnight trip)
September: Outer Banks or Vereen’s near the Intercoastal & Calabash to photograph Shrimp Boats
October: Cypress Gardens or Pee Dee State Park (overnight trip)
November: Cartwheel Bay (near Loris)
December: Gallery Tour
New Business
Bill Jordan: Kim reminded members about Bill Jordan’s upcoming workshops at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center.
Santee Birding & Nature Festival: Kim reviewed dates and info about this festival.
New Meeting Location: Beginning on April 20th, we will be meeting at Waccamaw Nature Photo Center in Litchfield behind the Mayor’s House Restaurant.
Presentation: Mark Hilliard presented a review on histograms.
