We are going for a long weekend (3/20 -3/23) canoeing and kayaking at 2 highly rated (A-A+) for pristine scenery in Florida. I will leave Charlotte on Thursday (3/20) after work for a ~7 hour drive to spend the night at Motel 6 Jacksonville SE ($45/night). I値l meet my boyfriend Guy there. We値l get up in the morning and do a canoe trip on the Pellicer River at Faver-Dykes State Park outside of St. Augustine. This is a single point put in and get out canoe trip. Reservations for the canoe can be gotten at 904 731 8400. Then we will drive ~3 hours down to Indian Town FL where we will stay at Seminole Inn ($97/night) on the night of 3/21. This is conveniently 20 miles from the Loxahatchee river. We値l get up early on Saturday (3/22) to kayak basically all day the beautiful Loxahatchee. Information on the canoe trip and rental/livery drop off and pickup is at www.canoeskayaksflorida.com. The pick up will probably be at 4pm. Then we値l drive back to the Motel 6 in SE Jacksonville Saturday night. This will set us up on Sunday for the ~ 7 hour drive home. We have not gone to either site before. We have just heard fantastic things about the Loxahatchee and have been very excited to go. Guy has a point and shoot with a water proof housing that we will take on the river and I have a pelican for my point and shoot. On the land we値l use our SLR痴.
