Robert Smith will make a presentation entitled "Some Thoughts On Shooting Herps" that will address photographing some of the 243+ species of reptiles and amphibians that are available for photography in North Carolina. He will talk about some of the species, their habitat, gear, and photographing them in the wild and in captive situations. Robert is a forest & wildlife biologist and outdoor photographer who first started photographing herps over 20 years ago. Robert has been assisting Gary Carter with his photo workshops for the last four years, and they have not only added a herp component to those workshops, they've added a full herp photography day with noted herp photographer Bill Love for this June. Photographing herps doesn't require any fancy or expensive equipment. Herps are found throughout North Carolina. Many herp photography techniques are applicable to other subjects, whether they be flowers, bugs, or something else. To see some of Robert's imagery, you can visit his website at www.photobiologist.com. There are also a few spots available for the hands-on herp photography workshop on June 4th - http://photobiologist.com/v/workshops/herp2011/.
Odds & Ends and other things of interest…
