Planning a trip to Magnolia and to Middleton for the very last week of March. Hoping someone can update me on the Azalea bloom. How far along are they, any predictions on when they'll peak.

Thanks for any help.

From Magnolia Plantations today (THUR/17th) via their Facebook page:

The wisteria is blooming, The azaleas are starting, The camellias are still blooming and so are the Japanese Magnolias. Our garden staff planted 1000 butterfly bushes and 200 gardenias yesterday. Do you really want to be the only one to miss the show? The Romance awaits!

The last week of March should be perfect for the Azaleas. Just starting to pop out now.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping to hear. I missed it by a week last year, a week too late.

Some of the bushes are in full bloom, others haven't budded yet. Should be a nice assortment this coming week or 2.

Agree with Jim ... I was there this morning and the camellias are winding down and azaleas just starting. Two weeks from now should be great.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll be there starting Sunday, hopefully the rain won't be too bad.

Ended up at Middleton without going to Magnolia, blooms were at 50-60% as of 03/31, the cool rainy weather has kept a lot of the buds tight. Hate I will miss the peak again but it was still very beautiful.
