Art or to much motion?

Here is a group of Sandhill Cranes taken post sunset at the Bosque Del Apache wildlife refuge. The sky was on fire and the light very low. Taken with an F5 and ISO probably 400 film likely pushed a stop. Used a 500 mm lens with a 1.4 tele extender. Shutter Speed was slow for sure but exact info not available. What are your thoughts?

Unbelievable sky, beautiful shot. The blurred birds are very abstract.
