Please note that the trips listed on the Midlands calendar for Oct and Nov of this year- 2010 - have been cancelled. ( The trips to the "Waterfalls of SC Near Jones Gap State Park scheduled for Oct 15th and 16th AND the Pisgah National Park trip near Brevard on Oct 29th and 30 are cancelled,as are the trips listed on the calendar for November - Lazy 8 Ranch for Nov13th and Coastal Carolina's ACE basin on November 20th and 21st. These 4 trips are cancelled) We are in the process of modifying the calendar. IMPORTANTLY Bob Williams WILL BE LEADING a waterfalls trip on Sat. October 30 but you will need to sign up for it. Here is the announcement that was posted on a very recent Midlands Region thread.
Greetings to All:
We propose a CNPA field trip on Saturday, October 30th to Issaqueena Falls and the Stumphouse Railway Tunnel about seven miles from Walhalla in Oconee County in northwest South Carolina. Meet in the parking lot at 10:00 am. Photographing these sites would be followed by a pot-luck picnic lunch. Afterwards there would be an optional trip to nearby Station Cove Falls. Access to these falls is described as Easy. Go to www.sctrails.net and then to the waterfalls trails category for a complete description, location directions and photos. Bob Williams has agreed to host this outing but will only do so if at least seven others sign up. Please contact him if you intend to participate bobwilliams@sc.rr.com or 803-786-7022.

We are also planning an exploratory trip of the Cowasee Basin for November of this year, and a trip to the ACE basin in January of 2011. More information will follow about these trips.
