2 young ones have been here most of the day patiently waiting for the leaves in my wooded area to move indicating a yummy morsel to dive down and devour! Judging from the blood on his beak and talons, I suspect he has been successful in finding lunch.

D300 w/Nikon 200-300mm AF VR lens at f8 and 1/250s at ISO 200.

Don, another really nice shot. You've got the light from the right direction and the bird is lit up just perfect. The only nit from me is the small twigs but certainly not so much that I wouldn't have been shooting the heck out of this guy myself. Perhaps we should have the board meeting at your house next month!!

Anytime you are in the neighborhood, drop in. I am really amazed at the patience of these guys. They sit there for hours scanning every inch of the ground and the creek looking for movement and then swoop down for a meal. My hope is that my chipmunks are smart enough to stay quiet when they are around!!!

If only my child was so patient...

Great photo!
