Shooting locations in Eastern Florida

I am headed to Florida the end of October and am wondering what may be available to shoot in Merritt Island and other near by locations this time of year?

I know this has been discussed to some extent but was wondering if any one has been there in late October? Just spending a couple of days there while visiting the Kennedy Space Center and thought I might take the tripod and a long lens for some wildlife shots.

Also a recommendation for a motel in the area would be appreciated from someone who has been there.

While I am not sure whats there at this time of the year you should for sure also check out the Viera Wetlands which is < an hour from the I 95 turnoff to Titusville and Merritt Island. You might want to check out the Nikon Cafe for lots of its members shoot in that area and you might be able to get additional information that way. There may also be members of CNPA in that part of the world that know a lot more then I do re this time of year. I tend to head that way in Feb.
