Please read through this email in its entirety as it contains lots of important information.

Hello Everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Once again, I have several announcements and updates for you. I’ll break it up into sections to make it easier to go through…

2008 Calendar of Events
One of the attachments {was in email; in separate thread on website} to this email is an updated 2008 Calendar for the Charlotte Region. There have been several changes, so I wanted to make sure you all had the latest and greatest copy. In addition, it has been updated on the Charlotte Region Forum on the CNPA website. It is saved as a Sticky and will remain as the top thread for easy access. Don’t forget to check there often for any updates, additions, or changes. As I said before, please review the document and let me know your thoughts. As you can tell, it continues to be a work-in-progress as we are still finalizing some of the details. If you have an idea for a future meeting or outing, or would like to lead one of the outings that still have TBD for the leader, please let me know.

January Outer Banks Outing - CANCELLED
Unfortunately, this outing has been cancelled due to low interest. There were only about 5 people who had signed up and a majority of them had to cancel for various reasons. The Outing Leaders made the call early this week and communicated to all those who had expressed interest. We will definitely look at either trying this outing again later in the year or around the same time next year.

February Meeting Speaker
Our February meeting topic is titled “Elements of Landscape Photography”, presented by William (Bill) Jordan IV. For anyone who is not familiar with Bill, a short biography has been attached to this email. An Agenda will be sent out separately closer to the actual meeting date of February 13. Hope to see you there!

February Outing
At our January meeting, the majority ruled so our February Outing will be to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens & Orchid Conservatory on February 23. More details regarding our meeting time and any other particulars will follow in a separate email, hopefully within the next week. If you know you are interested, available that day, and would like to sign up for this Outing, please go ahead and shoot me an email stating as such.

Membership Renewals
Thank you to all of you who have already renewed! Unfortunately, we still have quite a few folks out there who have yet to do so and are no longer getting our emails. Please check with your friends and remind them to renew so they don’t miss out on any important information, outings, the Annual Meeting, or access to the members’ areas on the website. When renewing your membership, please keep the following policies in mind:

* Non-members or visitors are limited to attending two CNPA events (two meetings, two outings, or one of each). Beyond that, they need to join to continue participation.
* If you have family members (spouse and/or dependents) attending CNPA events with you, the same policy above applies and one should renew their membership as a Family membership.
* Members under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times during CNPA events.

Renewing online at www.cnpa.org is very easy. Simply click on Member Login and then login using your User Name and Password. From there, click on Renew Membership and enter your information. You may use PAYPAL (I used PAYPAL and entered my personal Credit Card information). Membership prices are as follows:

* Regular – $35/year
* Family – $45/year
* Senior (Over 59) – $30/year
* Student (Under 19) – $15/year

If you have already renewed and need to upgrade to a Family membership, simply mail the difference along with a note to Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association, PO Box 245, Williston, SC 29853.

Annual Meeting
All members should have received their packets for the Annual Meeting by now. Thank you to all of you who have already registered. If you haven’t done so, please register soon so you don’t miss out on this wonderful event. The Annual Meeting will be in Charleston, SC on April 10-13. They have a full schedule of great speakers (check them out on the CNPA website). A new feature this year is that you can register by PAYPAL (for those who do not want to write a check) which will give you an instant confirmation.

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know. Take care and hope to see you soon! :)DJGD
