Red Peace Lily?

Another one from the butterfly conservatory. This one was blooming right behind the first bench on the right was we went in...

This appears to be a red peace lily (Spathiphyllum).

Nikon D200, Lester A. Dine 105 mm macro, f/7.3, 1/40th second, ISO 200, tripod, full frame. Ran a set of levels to darken the background a bit more.

The color is great but the water drops takes this one over the top. Tell me you followed the cardinal rule of photography and shot a vertical just after shooting this horizontal.

I followed the cardinal rule of photography and shot several verticals right after shooting several horizontals.

But I don't like the verticals as well because a light gray concrete wall intrudes in the well-composed verticals. What I needed was to have grabbed somebody's black sweatshirt/coat & gotten them to hold it behind the flower....

I guess I'll be going out & buying Annika a black baby blanket tomorrow - that way I will always (for the foreseeable future) have a nice dark background handy!!!
