Here's a shot I took in my backyard of a skipper. Is anyone bugged by the out of focus area in the bottom? Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice Skipper portrait.
The OOF area doesn't bother me much except that there is a bit much of it showing. Cropping about 1/2" more off of the bottom seems to help.
What do you think of the Tamron 180? I am shooting with a Sigma 105mm but looking for something with a bit more working distance.

I'm not as bothered by the OOF petals as I am by the antennae not being in focus - but that is minor too. There is also a dust spot near the top that could go away.

The OOF parts at the bottom don't bother me, but the antennae do. Regardless, it is a lovely intimate shot of the skipper. :)

Thanks for the advice. When I get a chance, I'll post the applied crop, but I'm not on the computer that my photos are stored on. As for the lens, I think it's great. It is very clear and it works great. The majority of my images are shot with this lens. I like it so much, I'm thinking about getting the Tamron 200-500mm lens also.

terrific detail in the skipper. Taken with natural light yes? Like this image a lot.

Here's the redone image. I cropped a bit off the bottom.
