Cades Cove report

The Cove loop has reopened, the road surface is much improved with a few new pull-offs and improvements to shoulders of the road. I don't believe the crowd today was as large as expected, probably due to the local storms. Turkeys were active in the fields, some strutting and a lot of gobbling in response to thunder. Only saw a few deer and only one bear in the Cove. Lots of wildflowers at peak right now. Hopefully the weather will settle down tomorrow.

thanks so much for the report, i plan on getting there tuesday and staying thrue satuday morning. i'm glad to hear that the crowd wasn't too bad.

Hate I'm going to miss you, I cut it short due to the weather being so bad. Today was nice but with wind gusts up to 30mph. Hopefully things will be settled down by the time you arrive. Saw 3 bears on the way out today, all were off the road between Sugarlands Visitor Center and the start of the Loop road.
