April Outing / Volunteer Day at Tiger World

Hello Everyone! We are having another Volunteer Day and Photo Outing at Tiger World in April. Following is some additional information regarding this adventure for your reference as well as the list of folks who have already signed up to attend. Check it out and let us know if you are interested in joining us. Please email me or add a post to this thread so I can add you to the list.

Event: Volunteer Day and Photo Outing at Tiger World
Leader: Jeff Averill
Date: Saturday, April 17
Time: Arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. and plan to work until 2:45 p.m. with a mid-day lunch (bring your own picnic); The Staff will conduct an up close and personal tour around 3 p.m., which is the perfect time to get your cameras out and catch some cool photographs of the critters
Location: Tiger World – 4400 Cook Road, Rockwell, NC 28138 – 704/279-6363 – www.tigerworld.us
Directions from Charlotte (note that they are only 15 minutes from Lowe’s Motor Speedway):

From I-85 North, take Exit 68
Head East (toward Rockwell) on Highway 152 for 4 miles
Turn right on Cook Road (look for Tiger World sign)
Follow road around to the right; parking area will be on the right

ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM JEFF: Please bring a picnic lunch, your rakes, gloves, leaf blowers (if you have them), and your cameras. If anyone has a chain saw, please bring that too. Note that there is a covered seating / picnic area on the property as well as drink machines. Lea always has a list of things that will enhance the facility. Everyone who has participated in the past has had a great time and always enjoys photographing the animals. Hopefully we'll overwhelm Lea with a large turnout. Thanks for your help and support!

P.S.: They have some very nice tiger shirts for sale too.

WOW!!! What a great outing!!! I had a blast!!! Thanks for coordinating. Can't wait to get my family up there to visit (probably one these weekends in May).

Lea's entusiasm sure is infectious! I plan on touching base with her to see if I can't get our Cub Scout Pack and affiliated Boys Scout Troop up there to help her out with some of the projects.

Thanks again for rpoviding the opportunity. Looking forward to doing it again!!

Many thanks to all who made it out this past Saturday to our Tiger World Volunteer Day / Outing! I believe everyone had a good time and got some great images - I know I did (just still trying to get all the paint off :) ). I know Lea was very excited with the turn-out we had and all the things we accomplished while we were there.

Thanks Brad for you post above! I know Lea will be very excited to have your Scout group up there as she can always use more help.
