Hi All,
Unfortunately, I was not able to go to the meeting on Sunday, my brother in law had a heart attack, he's ok, but I was at the hospital with my sister. Anyway, was there any written info from Bill on creating these wonderful photos?
Thanks,

Beth- First let me say that I am glad your brother-in-law is ok. The directions to creating this wonderful abstract is written under the image critique forums. Look at the one titled Just for fun and the directions are there. Very easy to do and very addicting!

I reposted a copy of Bill's Instructions below.

How to make an Orb
Couple of sidenotes first:
a. Not every picture makes a good orb. Single flowers just don't work.
The more flowers and stems and leaves, the better.
b. If you don't crop the picture to a square, you will end up with an
oval instead of an orb, which isn't all that bad.

Anyway --- instructions: I use Photoshop Elements but I'm sure these
instructions will translate to other programs too.

1. Open up your image, but make sure it is only one layer
2. Crop the picture into a square
3. Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates>Polar to Rectangular
4. Image>Rotate>Flip Vertical
5. Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates>Rectangular to Polar

and there you go!

Be careful, it can become addicting!

Thanks for posting the information on how create orbs. What fun!

I downloaded/installed the trial Photoshop Elements and made a bunch.

I've attached my favorite one.

BTW - I'm a new member and this is my first post. I think I followed all the posting guidelines but if I missed something please let me know.

Thanks,
Michelle
