View Full Version : Another Faux Color Infrared Live Oaks
This is a Faux Color Infrared image of a stand of Live Oaks around a small reflection pond filled with alge. The Faux Color technique is one wherin you take a STANDARD INFRARED IMAGE and reverse the red and blue channels. It gives a infrared monochromatic image with the blue highlights still displayed as captured by the IR sensor. It creates a very striking image that has an etherial quality. I like the light reflected from the surface of the pond on the bottom of the trees giveing them a light brown complexion as compaired to the tops!

I like this image very much. Only wish I knew how to do it since I use lightroom and not photoshop.

Well, Lightroom was meant to be a shortcut program for photographers out in the field and a means of archiving and controlling your library of images. You still need some sort of a true photo editor. Even having a copy of Elements would be beneficial to you in the long run!

Mark, thanks for sharing your technique, almost looks like a winter scene. The pine trees give you away!:)
WOW, I didnt expect this level of accolades! Thank you all very much! I work VERY hard at this and for some reason I turn to the IR body 9 times out of 10 when I go out shooting!
