I have been way out of the loop lately but took a few hours to myself this afternoon. I went to Huntington and found a small group of Roseate Spoonbills. Not sure if anyone else has seen them.

I saw four together yesterday but others have seen six.

Saturday there were SEVEN! They seem to follow the tide and move around quite a bit...so near low tide they are usually near the causeway, and sometimes the boardwalk...[ATTACH]3077

Kim (and others) - we went by HBSP this afternoon and saw 8 spoonbills, 3 of which came over close to the "handicap" overlook at the east end of Mullet Pond. A great variety of other birds too that plus something like 70 wood stocks and black terns flying over Mullet Pond made it a quite a show! Spoonbills have been at HBSP (off and on) since mid August - today's were the best color I've seen yet.

Got this image Friday evening. There are 10 flying overhead. What a great treat! If you have not checked the image critique yet then you need to look at Steve's post titled "Great year for variety". He has added many new finds to his portfolio. Great job Steve! Guess we all need to practice the crawl that Steve has obviously mastered!
