I found this box turtle on my driveway and moved him into our woods. He was patient with me and began eating some clover. Comments and critiques welcome.
Taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 at f/2.8, 1/40 of a second, ISO 200.

I really like the tight crop on this guy. The overall image seems a little blown out, but the eye and face are good. Catching him in the middle of lunch is pretty amusing! Nice work. :)

Great portrait! The vegetation is a plus.
It looks a lot more like a yellowbelly slider (Trachemys scripta) rather than a box turtle - perhaps it was one whose pond had dried up or a female looking for a place to lay eggs. I've seen them well over 1/2 mile from water.

Looking back at this image, I think you're right. If it was a box turtle, it's eyes would have been red or orange, not streaked yellow. What threw me off was how domed the turtle's shell was. Yellow-bellied sliders usually have flatter shells. Thanks!
