New G-11 announced

While I shoot NIKON for my DSLR needs I do love my Canon G-10 P&S box. It looks like Canon has finally come to their senses and redesigned the G-10 into a lower mega pixel , higher sensitivity camera with a tilt and swivel LCD rear screen. They claim 2 full stops better low noise performance. Here is the link to a press release on dpreview.com

That's just facinating! I'm amazed that a camera company would be willing to offer a camera with less mega-pixels. Seems like a risky proposition and I'm sure Canon is banking on knowledgable consumers who value quality over quantity. No doubt the other manufacturers will be watching with great interest...
