Hello everyone!!
We would like to thank all those who attended the meeting Monday night. Our program was a presentation on underwater photography by Bill Edmonds. We would like to thank Bill for a very informative presentation and for sharing his experiences and his images.
After brief introductions of all those in attendance, Lori Cash discussed the passing of Outer Banks Region member, Grayson Via. All members in attendance agreed that Grayson's previous Outer Banks Region website cover photo of the skimmers from April should be reposted as the cover photo for September as a tribute to Grayson.
An overview and slideshow of our last outing to Pea Island NWR was given by those who attended the outing. Our next outing on September 19, 2009 will be at Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park in Scotland Neck, NC. We will meet at 9am in the parking lot of Sylvan Heights. Lori Cash will send out an email with all the information on the outing to the Outer Banks email list. At our last meeting in July we did not have time to go through each of the photo contest entries and let those who entered to talk about their images, so, we looked at the contest images and talked about the images.
Lori Cash asked members in attendance if there were any volunteers to serve on the outings and programs committees. These committees help decide and organize our monthly outings and programs for our meetings. Jeanie Drescher volunteered to serve on the outings committee with Dave Huff. Bill Edmonds remains the Outings Committee Chair. Karen Watras, Phyllis Kroetsch and Eve Turek volunteered to serve on the Programs Committee, and Karen Watras agreed to become Programs Committee Chair. We would like to thank all the members who have volunteered to serve on these committees.
Our next meeting will be held on September 14, 2009 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Dare County Library in Kill Devil Hills. The program for our September meeting will be a Red River Paper Meeting In A Box and a discussion on inkjet printing lead by Lori Cash.
