Melbourne, FL and surrounding area

Hello everyone,
I will be spending a week in Melbourne, FL come 7/18/09. I've heard of good bird shooting around Merritt Island. Other than being crazy to go in July, does anyone recommend any specific area I should focus on for birds and other nature photography. Suggestions are welcome. Please be some what specific as I am not familiar with the area.

Hey Ken,

There are folks on the forum that have much more experience in Florida than I do, but when I visited in March I really enjoyed Blackpoint Wildlife Drive at Merritt and Viera Wetlands (I learned about it here on the forums). I have no idea what they are like in July. I have included the websites below. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
