Hello everyone!!!
We would like to thank all those who attended the meeting Monday night. We had eleven members and two guests. I presented a program on "Registering Your Images with the U.S. Copyright Office using the new eCO (Electronic Copyright Office)".
Dan Beauvais was chosen to have one of his photos to be displayed as July's cover photo for the CNPA Outer Banks Region website.
A brief overview of our last outing to Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia was given by those who attended the outing. Our July outing will be on July 11, 2009 at Wanchese Harbor. We will meet at 5:00pm in Wanchese Harbor for evening and sunset photography. I will be sending out an email here soon with all the information on the outing.
Bill Edmonds, Outings Chair, discussed his recent visit to Portsmouth Island and our upcoming October outing to Portsmouth Island. The Portsmouth Island/Ocracoke trip is scheduled for October 23-24 with 15 rooms blocked out for a rate of $79.00/night at the Anchorage Inn in Ocracoke. A boat service will transport members to and from Ocracoke Island to Portsmouth Island on Saturday, October 24, 2009. The cost of this service will be $15.00 per person round trip. As of the meeting, six rooms have been reserved with nine rooms remaining at the above rate. It is first come, first serve. Reservations at the Anchorage Inn have to be made by telephone. The number to the Anchorage Inn is 252-928-1101, and their website is www.theanchorageinn.com. If you have not already, please email me or Bill to let us know if you will be attending the Portsmouth Island outing and have made reservations at the Anchorage Inn.
Our next meeting will be held on July 13, 2009 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Dare County Library in Kill Devil Hills. The program for our July's meeting will be a presentation by Vinny Colucci of Naturescapes Photography Workshops on "4 Keys to a Photograph". In addition, we will be having our quarterly photo contest at the July meeting. The topic of the contest is "Your Two Best Images Taken between April 1, 2009-June 30, 2009. Please email me at lori@lacphoto.com your images by July 6, 2009 at midnight. The images must be sized to 1024 pixels on the longest side, sRGB, 72dpi and in JPEG format. We will be viewing and judging the images at our July meeting.
I asked members to think about volunteering to serve on our outings and programs committees. These committees help decide and organize our monthly outings and programs for our meetings. Committee organizing will be conducted at our August meeting. If you know you are interested on serving on a committee or want additional information, please let me know.
