Minutes for November 17, 2007
Old Business:
-Postcards- Mark is not able to use any of the photos he has received. Kim will contact
Diane Bryant and see if she has any old photos of the group.
-Gallery 57 show- Kim reviewed the dates- drop off 11-26 to 11-29 and reception 12-1 @ 5pm
Pick up work on 1-7-08
Kim will send out an email to those participating regarding food which the participants will
provide. The Gallery 57 will do the advertising and provide the drinks and paper products.
-Brookgreen project- the bird houses have been cleaned. Thank you to Evert, Sandra,
Kim and Diana. Some of them need repair and Pat will get with Diana and send out an
email for the next work date. Planting will begin in the spring for the butterfly garden.
-Pat and Anne gave report on the outing with the students at Waccamaw High School. The school
planned a field trip to Brookgreen and some members in the group helped with teaching the
students about photography.
-Contest for high school students- a committee was formed. Ron, Frank and Kim will organize
the contest. Doug Delong will help us with the planning. We discussed having the contest
in the early spring. The committee will meet and give a report at the January meeting.
Town planner calander- Lisa should be getting intouch with Kim after Thanksgiving to work on the plans for next year. Kim will bring that info when it is available.
New Business:
-Outing committee- Ron, Pat and Mark will be working on the outing schedule for next year.
It has been requested that when we meet in December each member brings a place they
would like to go. Please bring all info about the location (ex: directions, best time to shoot,
what is there to shoot, sample images if available)
We would like to have the outings planned at least 3 months in advance to give members
enough time to plan if there is an event they would like to attend.
December: No outing planned and we will still meet on December 16 at 6pm. We will be having a
get together rather than a meeting. We will also be having a swap/sell. If you have old equipment that is in a drawer then pull it out and bring it. Don't forget to bring info on your favorite location and Kim has sent out an email. If you are planning on attending this meeting/social, please send her an email. We will be having some refreshments and food so we would like to know how many to plan for. Please RSVP if you are planning on coming. If you have a favorite snack you would like to bring, please feel free to do so.
