This is from a Midlands trip to Steven's Creek Heritage Preserve. I was playing with a new way (for me) to do macro ... using a longer telephoto (300mm with a 1.4 tele and a couple extension tubes) instead of a traditional macro lens. I liked the results enough that I haven't pulled out the macro lens all season!

Beautiful flower, Nice capture. I tend to use my 200mm with a Canon 500D close-up filter and works great!!
