Hi all, there will be a CNPA Midlands outing to the Audubon's Beidler Forest in Harleyville SC on Saturday May 16th with the outing led by Regional Co Coordinator Charlie Burn. Charlie would like those of you interested in attending to call him at 803-318-3255. He plans to meet those interested in the trip at the front gate at 8:15AM. If you have not been to Beidler you will find all kinds of potential photographic opportunities including birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, and landscapes. The prothonotary warblers are there in large numbers and lots of folks have been able to photograph the owls. You just never know what you will see. The venue is a 1 3/4 mile board walk that weaves thru hardwood forest and an old growth swamp with some of the cypress trees up to 1000 years old or older While you can pay the daily admission fee I would suggest you consider the $20 year's pass which will allow admission for a year AND allow you to enter the current Audubon SC Photo contest without paying an additional entry fee for the contest. You can check out the rules for the contest on the CNPA WEB SITE (home page upper left) or on the Audubon SC WEB site. There are significant cash prizes involved. The Audubon Beilder Forest address is: 336 Sanctuary Road, Harleyville, SC 29448 and the phone number: 843-462-2713. Good luck. Don Wuori Midlands CNPA regional CoCoordinator
