Our November outing will be at the Columbia Zoo. Since we are getting in early, please let me know if you plan to attend.
Saturday, November 17, 7:45 am
Meeting Time and Location:
We will meet in the zoo parking lot at 7:45 am so that we are ready to enter the Zoo’s main entrance at 8:00. We are being let in an hour early, so if you are not with us when they let us in at 8:00, you will have to wait to get in until the zoo opens at 9:00.
Shoot Details:
Since we are getting in before opening, we will have an hour all by ourselves with the animals. The zoo usually doesn’t get too crowded until about the time the light gets bad, so using your tripod will not be a problem. Most of the enclosures at the zoo are somewhat shallow, so a mid-range lens (200 – 400mm) should suffice but a bigger lens is ok if you are willing to tote it around. There are a few instances where a macro or wide angle lens may come in handy. Flash is definitely recommended. This should be a good opportunity to practice your skills and really work the subjects.
Directions:
The zoo is located at 500 Wildlife Pkwy, just off I-126 at Greystone Blvd.
Outing Fee:
Since we are going in early, the zoo has graciously decided not to charge us entry fees! However, if you miss the early entrance, you will have to pay the entry fee of $9.75.
