Asheville Dogwoods - status check

Was thinking of a trip to the Arboretum, Botanical Garden, or the BR Parkway this weekend, but wondered if the dogwoods were gone...or not open yet. THANKS!!

Hi Jennifer -

A local will have a more comprehensive answer than me, but Kathy & I were in the Asheville area this past weekend - specifically the area from the Destination Center to Cowee Mountains overlook. The dogwood we saw at the lower elevations along the Parkway were past peak and turning brown, like they had been hit with a freeze or frost. The trees at the higher elevations had not blossomed yet, so hopefully they will be popping soon.
