Every day around 1030am, like clockwork, this guy perches in my backyard waiting for a frog or field mice or whatever to move down by the creek that runs along the side of my wooded area. Only once in the last 2 years have I been prepared for the kill but I keep trying!! But when I see one of my backyard Chipmunks moving about I tend to open the door and make a bit of noise....I don't like the Hawk having my chipmunks for lunch!!

Don, I have found it difficult to get close enough to these guys in the wild except at places where the birds are acclimated to humans, certainly not my backyard. Sounds like you have a good plan and hopefully you can get the "kill" shot. Nice job especially considering the 2x teleconvertor, I rarely use mine as it makes it much harder to get a sharp image. Apparently you don't have as many problems in that area with yours.

Nice Image of a hungry guy or gal. I'll bet this bird could lay waste to your chipmonk population very quickly!

Pretty nice that he keeps his daily appointment. Very nice shot. I like the over the shoulder pose. Can't wait to see when you get the kill shot! :)

What a cooperative backyard inhabitant! Good luck on capturing him some more!
