April Outing to Gary Carter's

Hello Everyone! My apologies on the delay in getting this information sent out to all of you. For those of you who were at the February meeting, you have already heard about this. For those of you who were not at the meeting (and those who prefer written details), below and attached is the complete information about our April 2009 outing. As you can see, we need to be at the site in McLeansville by 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, and the cost is $60.00 per person (please bring exact change as I am not sure that we will have a way to make change). There is a maximum of 10 participants for this outing. If your name is not listed below, you are not included as an outing participant. Once we reach the limit of 10, I will begin a waiting list and will fill positions if any of those signed up have to cancel. Please review and let me know as soon as possible if you are interested and plan on going on this outing. Also, please let me know if you have any questions. Agenda:

For those meeting in the Charlotte area, we will meet in the parking lot of the Super Target off I-85 at Exit 54 at 6:30 a.m. This is the Kannapolis Parkway / George W. Liles Parkway Exit and the address for Super Target is 6150 Bayfield Parkway, Concord, NC 28027. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the Carter’s residence, so please be on time.
For those meeting us there in McLeansville, please be there promptly at 8 a.m.
Gary will set us up in the blinds and we will rotate periodically so that everyone can have equal time in the different spaces. We will be shooting from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.

Do you know if Gary will accept personal checks or is cash required?
I am looking forward to a good shoot, I was there once before about 4 years ago and you get really close to many small birds. suggest that anyone considering attending check out the links on the attached document.

The Upstate region also has an outing planned to Gary Carters for a full weekend of shooting on the week following our outing. Some of you folks on the waiting list might wish to attend their outing. They have a few spaces left. It does cost more but is much more inclusive than our Saturday AM only shoot. Check out the link on their forum if interested and shoot Mark Hoyle an email soon.

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to bump this up as a final thread reminder for this Outing on this Saturday, April 25 (I'll try to send out an email later tonight too to make sure everyone sees this). Hello again! I just updated my original post at the top of this thread. We had another last minute cancellation so I have moved the next available person from the Waiting List up to the Confirmed Participants List. With that said, everyone was either previously confirmed on the Participants List or they were contacted over the last few days and confirmed via email. Please let me know if you have any questions. For those folks still on the Waiting List, I'll corner Gary at some point tomorrow before we leave and see what other day(s) he might have open to schedule a second outing for our group. It also looks like the Triad also has a morning only shoot at Gary Carter's on Saturday May 9th. Interested parties on the waiting list may want to contact Chris Almerini via their forum to inquire about filling out their group.

I would like to THANK Debra for heading up this outing.

While the birds were not as prolific as we had hoped, due to the HOT weather, I had a good time and got a few keepers.

Gary as usual was a wonderful host and I look forward to returning possibly in the Fall.

Also got to know some of my fellow CNPA members better. Cesar's homemade macro flash bracket is ingenious.

Thank you Edgar! Also, thank you everyone who participated on Saturday. Like Edgar stated, the birds didn't quite cooperate as we had July weather in April, but I believe everyone still had a good time. I absolutely love Gary's place and was in macro heaven (and the wind even cooperated most of the day :) ). If you've never been there before, I definitely recommend it. Gary and Janice have a lovely place (thank you again for letting us "invade" your beautiful yard!). Also, thanks to Gary and Robert for assisting us and showing us around the place.

Regarding the Wait List folks - please let me know if any of you are able to fill the slots that Chris has with the Triad region. If that doesn't work, we can definitely look into scheduling something else in the future with Gary.
