Killdeer on Nest [Archive]

I took this shot several years ago when this Killdeer decided to make her nest within a few inches of the sidewalk for the building I work in. A very simple shot after she got used to 100's of people walking within a few feet of her nest every day.

I like it as posted, but wish for a tad more room vertically.

Think I know this bird. Did the eggs hatch or did a snake, cat or other critter get them? Amazing and I suspect rare to get this close.

As far as we know all four eggs hatched and the chicks hit the road running.
