I found this beetle laying on his back waving his legs in the air & temporarily captured him and subjugated him to modeling... He was about as big as my thumb.
I collected a couple of big sycamore leaves & got everything set up...
If you have ever wondered how these guys can climb on almost anything - take a look at the feet on this guy! I like his "fur" too...
Nikon D70, Lester A. Dine 105 mm macro, f/32!, 6 seconds, ISO 200, two artificial lights (one on outside right of light tent & one held just to the left & above the lens), full frame.
