Now is the the best time for a photo-op by canoe on the French Broad. Would anyone like to join me some afternoon?
We'll put-in at the Bent Creek access and take-out 2-3 hours later depending on dawdle-time. This is a gentle stretch that goes by the Biltmore Estate and under I-40. I'll supply the gear including a 17-foot Grumman, life jackets and waterproof bags. I'll paddle and shoot some while you shoot and paddle some.
Lemme know if you're interested and we'll set a date. Others so equipped are welcome to join us.
I was born on the St. Lawrence River and have been messing around in small boats forever as a river rat, trip leader, instructor and competitor. For many years, I participated in slalom, wildwater, marathon and Olympic-style events. And, I'm a former member of the American Canoe Association and American Whitewater Affiliation.
