Carolina Wren feeding baby worm. Taken in Greensboro NC last year at one of Gary Carters Photo weekends. Using tripod mounted D2X and 200-400 zoom at 400 with High Speed Crop on so eqivalent of 800mm. Also using a Nikon SB 800 flash and Better Beamer. Was shooting a Red Bellied Woodpecker when Gary shouted "Caroliana Wren feeding babies on left" Only got this one shot

Don, great behavior shot. Showing Mom shoving the worm in the mouth is great timing on your part. If you had to get one, this was the "one".:)

Special moments like this don't happen often. You have to have quick reactions. Wonderful picture.

If your "one shots" are all as good as this one, you can get by with fewer shots! This is a great addition to your behavior stack--hope to see this in December at CCC.

If that was the only shot you got of it, you got the right one! Good going! Neat shot!!

Super shot of the interaction between mother and child. I love it!

Superb behavioral image, Don. It doesn't get any better.

I must admit, however, that the funky-patterned bokeh is a little distracting. Is that a function of that particular lens all of the time?

Hi, don't think its a characteristic of the lens as haven't seen it before (I don't think) I assume you are refering to the background. The background is more then likely the combo of the distance from the main subject, the lighting and the plants that were there.

Great interaction! The BG almost looks like brushstrokes. :)
