I found this anole not in the zoo but at the zoo. They are really patient and will allow you to move around, unlike most lizards. Comments and critiques welcome. I shot it using a Nikon D-80, 180mm macro lens, tripod, and exposure is unrecorded but I think around f/7.1 with shutter speed of 1/100th of a second.

You focused on the most important part--the eye! Good shot when that eye looks back at you.

Very sharp eye which is as Bob says most important. I agree that at times they let you work them but on other occassions they are gone in a flash.

Great focus, texture and lines. My opinion, it might have worked a little better if you had given a bit less of an open space behind him and more in front, looking into the picture instead of out.

Neat shot. I'm glad the anoles cooperate with you, because most of the time they don't with me!

Excellent use of selective focus. I love how the BG color complements the anole's coloring. keep up the good work. :)

I love following these little guy around with the camera! Good shot. In future posts please provide the EXIF data like exposure, lens, flash and then add your personal setup information! It makes viewing the images soooooo much more meaningfull plus allows us to see your intent in the photo!

I like the shot but I am bothered by the "ring" of focus around the eye and what appears to be a blur applied the the rest of the image. Was something along these lines done intentionally in Photoshop?

No, the image was not altered in photoshop. The ring of focus is simply the result of a small depth of field and the anole being at an angle to the camera.
