This lubber grasshopper was on one of my wife's lily seed pods towards the end of last month.
Nikon D70, Lester A. Dine 105 mm macro, somewhere around f/8ish?, 1/320th second, ISO 200, ringflash, tripod.
Very nice closeup! Perfect composition, colors and background!

Wonderful shot. Incredibly sharp with very nice background. Did you get to shoot him afew times/experiment with settings or did he blast off pretty quickly?

Thanks, y'all.
I got to "work" him & some adjacent spiders for about a half hour... I think it took me longer to sort images than it did to shoot them.

I love this shot. The BG is a little bright, but the composition is great and the detail is just wonderful. :)
