I'll be headed to Nags Head for the CNPA outing 1/16 to 1/19.
I'll be traveling on TUESDAY (1/13) and will arrive at our Hotel (Ramada) on that day and will do some major exploring on my own.

I would like some help in one area: I'd like to be pointed in the right direction as to where to set up my dog-house camouflage for some water fowl photography. Has to be set up early (pre-dawn is best), I know....

Pocosin Lakes, Lake Mattamuskeet, Oregon inlet...Don't have to hit them all, but would like to take my 400mm out with me to get some good shots.

I would like to be able to walk the suggested area the day before and get a good idea on where to set up before dawn the next day, without tripping over myself and/or getting lost.

Anyone want to join me, you're most welcome.

Thanks in advance -

Bob,
this is definitely the right place for some waterfowl photography! I would be more than happy to head out with you both for scouting and also shooting.

The Bodie Island Lighthouse ponds at Cape Hatteras National Seashore have been fantastic lately with most of the action happening on the East side and South side of the ponds. This is National Park land and so you do not need permits to access the ponds. Just try and be as nondescript as possible when your out there. As long as your not drawing a crowd to yourself with elaborate lighting setups and stuff like that than you are OK.

I know a couple places to set up a blind out at Lake Mattamuskeet though you have to be careful where you go this time of year as much of the refuge is closed - especially to photographers.

Feel free to give me a ring and we can talk more. 757-377-4662

Thanks for the info, and the offer. I'll definitely give you a call to discuss.
Can you give me a good time frame to call?

thanks
