This was from the local region outing last weekend. I just couldnt resist the purples! This was taken at a PRIVATE butterfly house in Murrells Inlet. A local banker set up his back yard (1/2 acre) as a butterfly habitat. He had hundreds of them with plants, trails and a water garden. It was an amazing site. This only goes to show you what $40k can do if you have the time and space!

Mark, I love the purples too. You did a good job with the composition and the sharp detail and beautiful colors put this one over the top. Hand-held makes this even more impressive, was that due to lack of room or just a personal preference?

The background is just right. Just enough out of focus.

Good shot, I like the light radiating from inside the petals. That little bit on the bottom tho is a little distracting to me, I would crop it out.

I like the composition. Good job on the exposure too. Agree to get rid of the buds at the bottom to "improve"? the image.
