One of my favorite little flowers, odd design but neat in a viewfinder. I have found these only a couple times in the past few years but last month I found hundreds of these blooming 300 feet from where I work. They were a little past prime but next year I will have to give them a try.

You did well. Schrankia is hard (for me anyway) to photograph. It is one of my favorites too - I like its flowers, its folding-up leaves, & the seed pods (that are eaten by MANY kinds of critters).

Look in frequently burned piney woods for sensitive briar. It also will grow in some places that are basically mowed once a year. It will come back for a few years from the soil seed bank after some sort of soil disturbance as well.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice depth of field on the front/main flower. What lens did you use? Was it stopped down? Very pretty flower.

Good detail on the flower. I wish the one on the left wasn't cut off, but otherwise a very nice shot. :)
