Here is a much better shot of the Glossy Ibis and gives you a better idea of what bird looks like. There is not a much irredescense on the wings as you might see in more sunlight (and could post one with alot more irredescense later if you like ) but like this shot because not just standing in open water. This is a very illusive bird and seems to be difficult to photograph. Saw a fair number at Merritt Island in Feb and afew (very few) actually didn't seem to mind us fairly close and actively photographing them. Rarely stood still. A really beautiful bird.

That's a good shot. I was at the Audubon Swamp at Magnolia Plantation the other day and saw a couple of them wading around. Unfortunately I didn't have a long enough lens to get a good shot. And you right they don't stand still for very long.

Great shot Don, was this shot in February? Looks like it may be a juvenile but that would have been between July-November. Regardless the bird really stands out with that lighter BG. I can understand why you like it.

Yes shot taken in Feb 07. The Merritt Island experience was great.
