Coyote Jumping

I went up to Cades Cove with a group from the Naturescapes website a few months ago and captured this coyote hunting in a field near the road. I got many images of this guy as he chased field mice through the grass. Here he is pouncing on a mouse. Shot with a 1dMkIIn and 500mm IS lens. If you're interested I can show the results of the hunt.:eek:

Great action shot. It looks like the sun was behind some clouds, because I don't see any shadows. He does look pretty healthy.

Both shots are very good! Cades Cove is one of my favorite places to photograph. And it takes a special talent to get shots like these at the focal lengths reguired to fill the frame of these subjects. Great job!

As a lady at work once told me, "you must have a ready good camera". Since she was the report writer I responded that "she must have a really good typewriter".:D
