Hello All, My friend Bill Ryerson at REI in Charlotte has advised me of this event which may interest some of us.
Randy Johnson, author of Hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, will be coming to REI Pineville and REI Charlotte to do a presentation and book signing about great places to hike the Blue Ridge Parkway (and see the leaves!). I’ve included the information about the presentation below.
Hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway
Friday, October 24th, 7 PM - REI Pineville
Saturday, October 25th, 1 PM - REI Charlotte
North Carolina outdoor author and photographer, Randy Johnson, will be signing books and presenting slide programs at REI Pineville and REI Charlotte in October. The author of some of the bestselling trail guides in the nation - Hiking North Carolina, Hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Best Easy Day Hikes Blue Ridge Parkway - Johnson will present two slide programs; a mountains-to-coast look at the state's best trails, and a hiker's tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Johnson launched the Grandfather Mountain trail program 30 years ago this summer and was instrumental in creating the trail system that today links Grandfather and the Blue Ridge Parkway, including a portion of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.
